El Paso ranked 291th in state in lottery ticket sales for February 2016

The City of El Paso had the 291th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of February 2016 -- up 47 spots from its January ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in El Paso was $23.81 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the McLean County Times, El Paso generated $66,633.50 in net sales from its five lottery retailers in February 2016, compared to $72,381.50 in February 2015.

The City of El Paso is in McLean County, and has a population of 2,798, according to 2010 census data.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in February 2016 was $16,721.54.

El Paso's top lottery retailer is Caseys Gen Store #3095 located at 565 W Main St, El Paso, IL 61738.

Caseys Gen Store #3095 generated 31 percent of El Paso's February 2016 lottery ticket sales and 2 percent of McLean County's sales that month, which was $1,805,926.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in McLean County in 2015 were Towanda, El Paso, Chenoa, Danvers and Le Roy.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
