Meadows Mennonite Home hit with health violation

Hospitalbed 1000x667

Meadows Mennonite Home, a 159-bed skilled, intermediate, and shelter care facility in Chenoa, was cited by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) for violations of the Nursing Home Care Act in the second quarter of 2017.

The report, released on Monday, lists the nursing homes in the state with AA or A violations, which might have caused the death of a resident or could cause death or serious injury to a resident, respectively.

Meadows Mennonite Home received an “A” violation and a $25,000 fine for failing to protect six residents from a staff member who mentally abused and humiliated the residents. The staff member allegedly took unauthorized pictures and video of the residents, which included partial nudity, and posted them on social media. The facility also allegedly failed to report the known unauthorized pictures. The facility has requested a hearing.
