City of Lexington City Council met Aug. 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The special meeting of the Lexington City Council was called to order at 7:00 P. M. by Mayor Spencer Johansen in the City Hall Council Chambers at City Hall.

Roll call was taken to find the following physically present: Mayor Johansen, Alderman Richard, Alderman Fosen, Alderman Colclasure, Alderman Schreiber, Alderman Stover and Alderwoman Wilson. Members of the staff and public present were: Wendy Nasseri, Brecken Nasseri, McKenna Nasseri, Presley Hedrick, Gia Hedrick, Josie Hardt, Karen Hawkins, Michael Hawkins, Heidi Weis, David Weis, Bridget Mohr, Shane Hawkins, Kenneth Sours, Charles Bradford, Kyle Bradford and Myles Nasseri.

Closed Session Section 2 ( c ) of the Open Meetings Act Pertaining to Hiring Police Personnel: It was moved by Alderman Richard and seconded by Alderman Colclasure to go into closed session. Motion carried unanimously.

Regular session resumed.

Vote on Hiring Police Personnel: Chief Belvery recommended that we hire Ramin Nasseri as our full time replacement for Officer Eckhoff.

Motion was made by Alderman Richard and seconded by Alderman Colclasure to hire Ramin Nasseri as our full time police officer. Motion carried unanimously.

Chief Belvery also made the recommendation that we hire Bryan Schultz and Alex Lorsbach to fill the part time positions that we have open pending on both the gentlemen completing the rest of the tasks for the background and psyche evaluations on them.

Motion was made by Alderman Richard and seconded by Alderman Colclasure to hire Bryan Schultz and Alex Lorsbach to fill the part time positions pending on both the gentlemen completing the rest of the tasks for the background and psyche evaluations on them. Motion carried unanimously.

At this time Ramin Nasseri was sworn in as police officer for the City of Lexington.

There being no further business motion was made by Alderman Richard and seconded by Alderman Schreiber to adjourn at 7:29 P.M. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
