Hudson Area Public Library District Board met Aug. 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Meeting called to order by President Ronda Hess at 6:31 pm. Other board members present were

Dianne Feasley, Beth Kreps, Lynne Norris, Gwyn Whitacre, Brian Davis & Nancy Rinda. Library Director Jenny Losey was also present. The minutes of the July meeting were reviewed and approved as revised. Move to accept by Feasley and second by Davis,

Library Director's Report 

Summer Reading Program participation for 2019 was up. There has been no problem with humidity in the Community Room this summer. The low spot in the parking lot needs Restriping should wait until we have final approval from the State of Illinois about the ADA parking spot plan. New employee Jill Barth has been a great help in the Hudson History Room. Facebook marketing suggestions and daily postings are working well. Other digital options for increasing HAPLD on line exposure were discussed. Four new computers were installed and the old units are being reused for programming within the library. Programming ideas were discussed.

Legal Secretary's Report 

The Minutes Audit for 2018-19 was completed by Davis and Feasley.

Treasurer's Report 

Motion by Davis to accept the July paid Monthly Expense report. Second by Kreps. Feasley presented the July monthly financial report.

President's Report 

No report

New Business 

Director Losey presented the 2019 IPLAR for review. Submission to the state will be completed by the September deadline.

The Disaster Plan was reviewed with minor revisions. Discussion was held about applying for an AED grant as well as appropriate training. Losey will contact insurance company about any potential liability. Discussions was held about employee responsibility under the plan. Motion to approve Disaster Plan as revised by Feasley and second by Kreps.

Meeting adjourned at 7:35 pm.

The next meeting will be held September 10, 2019 at 6:30 pm. Public hearing for 2019-2020 Budget & Appropriation Ordinance will be held before meeting at 6:15 pm.
