Illinois Wesleyan University women’s lacrosse senior Anelise DiGiovanni was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Offensive Player of the Week on March 31. This marks her second weekly honor this season, with her first award received on Feb. 24.
The recognition comes after DiGiovanni led Illinois Wesleyan to a split week, accumulating a total of ten points across two games, averaging five points per game. She recorded four goals and six assists during these contests. In addition to her offensive contributions, she led the team with twelve draw controls, collected five ground balls, and caused four turnovers.
In a match against No. 20 University of Chicago on March 25, DiGiovanni forced a turnover and added a draw control despite the team’s loss. She responded in the following game against Hanover College on March 29 by setting new career highs with four goals, eleven draw controls, and five ground balls. She also matched her career-best ten points with six assists and contributed three caused turnovers.
