Evan Lowder, a junior sprinter at Illinois Wesleyan University, has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Track Athlete of the Week. The announcement made on April 16 follows Lowder’s impressive performance at Illinois State University’s The Normal Invite.

At the event held on April 12, Lowder secured third place in the men’s 400-meter with a time of 47.70 seconds. His performance places him at the top of the conference rankings and 15th in Division III nationally for the season.

In addition to his individual success, Lowder anchored the 4-by-400m relay team, which included teammates Carson Green, Reece Dusek, and Alex Harvey. The team finished with a time of 3:15.56 against a Division I field. This relay time ranks fourth in Illinois Wesleyan’s history and is the quickest in the CCIW by nearly three seconds. Nationally, the relay ranks 16th.

Looking ahead, Illinois Wesleyan will participate in the Gibson Invitational at Indiana State University from April 17 to April 19.
