Illinois Wesleyan University senior Evan Lowder has received his sixth career College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Track Athlete of the Week honor, as announced by the league office on February 18.
Lowder set a new CCIW all-time indoor record in the 400-meter invitational division at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet on February 13. He finished second in the race with a time of 47.56 seconds, surpassing the previous league record of 47.70 seconds set in 2019 by North Central College’s Peyton Piron. This performance currently places Lowder fifth nationally in NCAA Division III for the event.
The Illinois Wesleyan Titans Men’s Track and Field team, which competes at the NCAA Division III level as part of the CCIW, will participate in their final regular season indoor meet on Friday, February 20. The Friday Night Tri event will be held at the Shirk Center, with field events starting at 4:30 p.m. and running events following at 5 p.m.
According to the team’s official website, the Illinois Wesleyan Titans host their indoor competitions at the Shirk Center Indoor Track in Bloomington, Illinois. The program includes student-athletes from freshman to senior years and participates in intercollegiate athletics within NCAA Division III and CCIW.
