Four members of the Illinois Wesleyan University track and field team earned All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, on March 14. Three of these athletes received First Team distinctions for their performances.
The achievements highlight the strength of the Titans’ program, which competes in intercollegiate athletics as part of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and participates at the NCAA Division III level, according to the official website. The program is based in Bloomington, Illinois, and features student-athletes from freshman to senior years.
Senior Evan Lowder set a new conference record in the 400-meter race with an indoor personal best time of 47.52 seconds, tying for third place. Junior Imani Ogunribido finished third in the women’s triple jump with a leap of 12.26 meters, earning her first First Team All-American honor indoors. Junior Mackenzie Huber placed fourth in the 800-meter event with a time of 2:10.85, marking her first All-American distinction and achieving the highest finish by a Titan in that event since 2013. Senior Adriana Crabtree finished fourteenth in a challenging 3000-meter race after losing a shoe midway through but still secured Second Team All-American status—her third career All-American finish.
The Titans host their indoor events at the Shirk Center Indoor Track, a facility dedicated to track and field according to the official website. The men’s track and field program recently placed second in the CCIW Championships as reported by their official site.
Looking ahead, Illinois Wesleyan’s track and field team will begin its outdoor season at the TCU Alumni Invite scheduled for March 20-21 in Fort Worth, Texas.
