The Illinois State Track & Field and Cross Country programs are set to host a homecoming tailgate at the university’s outdoor track on Saturday, October 18. The event is scheduled to start at 11 a.m., with a short program planned for noon. Alumni, family, and friends are invited to attend.
Jeff Bovee, Illinois State Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, said, “Homecoming is always a special event at Illinois State, but this year we’re especially excited to welcome back our Redbird Track & Field family. Our alumni, parents and outstanding supporters are the foundation of what we do, and this event gives us the opportunity to celebrate their impact on our program and the legacy they continue to build. We can’t wait to share in the Redbird spirit together!”
A registration fee of $25 per person is required for entry. This fee covers access to the tailgate as well as music, games, food, and refreshments. Registration will close at 11:59 p.m. CT on October 10.
Following the tailgate event, attendees are encouraged to watch the Illinois State homecoming football game at Hancock Stadium beginning at 2 p.m., located across from the outdoor track. Parking for the football game will be available for a fee in lots G53, G82, and S81. Football tickets must be purchased separately.
