Illinois Wesleyan men’s volleyball sweeps North Park in straight sets

The Illinois Wesleyan University men’s volleyball team, ranked 17th nationally, won against North Park University in Chicago on April 1. The Titans secured the victory in just over an hour with set scores of 25-14, 25-13, and 25-13. With this win, Illinois Wesleyan improved its season record to 21-4 overall and moved to an 8-1 standing in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.

This match held significance as it set up a decisive regular season finale against Carthage College. Both teams share identical conference records of 8-1, making their upcoming meeting crucial for determining the CCIW Regular Season Championship and top seed for the conference tournament.

Several players contributed to Wednesday’s win while playing close to home. Junior Bryce Williams led with seven kills at a .500 attack percentage. Sophomore Ethan Kuziela and freshman Aydin Provost each added six kills with strong efficiency rates. Kuziela also recorded two aces and was second on the team with fourteen assists, while junior Brenden Reutter tallied twenty assists to lead the squad.

Defensively, sophomore Ben Zima collected nine digs for Illinois Wesleyan. Senior Jace Milka added four digs, while three other players contributed three apiece. Sophomore Wilson Spaulding led blocking efforts with three blocks.

Illinois Wesleyan Titans Men’s Volleyball participates at the NCAA Division III level according to the official website.
