Illinois Wesleyan places third in women’s 800 free relay at CCIW championship opener

The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Swimming & Diving Championship began at the RecPlex Aquatic Center in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, with the 800-yard freestyle relay on Wednesday night.

Illinois Wesleyan University’s women’s team secured third place in the opening event. The relay squad included senior Natalie Porter, juniors Sam Borre and Claire Paule, and freshman Abby Schnittker. They finished with a time of 7:58.65.

Competition will continue Thursday, February 19, starting with preliminary heats at 10 a.m.

Illinois Wesleyan Titans women’s swimming and diving program competes as part of the CCIW at the NCAA Division III level. The team is based in Bloomington, Illinois, where it hosts events at Fort Natatorium (official website). The roster features student-athletes from all undergraduate years (official website).
