The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams will compete in three different meets across the Midwest from March 26 to March 28. Some team members will travel to St. Louis, Missouri, for the WashU Distance Carnival on March 26-27, while others will participate in the Redbird Challenge in Normal, Illinois, and the Big Blue Alumni Invite in Decatur, Illinois on March 28.
These competitions come after the Titans’ first outdoor meet of the season at the TCU Alumni Invite in Fort Worth, Texas on March 21. Eight athletes achieved career-best times at that event. Freshman Mallory Short recorded personal-best times of 25.88 seconds in the 200-meter sprint and 58.06 seconds in the 400-meter sprint. Sophomore Kelsey Moore finished with a career-best time of 15.80 seconds in the women’s 100-meter hurdles, placing her twenty-ninth overall.
Junior Cole Marshall achieved a personal record of 10.85 seconds in the men’s 100 meters, tying for fourth-fastest time in program history. In addition, sophomore Nyamedze Maison matched his best performance with a time of 10.99 seconds—the ninth-fastest mark ever by a Titan sprinter.
This weekend’s events will also see outdoor debuts from several team members who earned indoor honors: “This weekend will mark the 2026 outdoor debut of many Titans, including seventeen indoor U.S. Track & Field and Coaches and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region selections, three First Team All-Americans, and one Second Team All-American.” The university said links to follow each meet as well as daily results would be available on their track and field page at iwusports.com.
