The Illinois Wesleyan University women’s lacrosse team is set to continue its home stretch at the start of the 2026 season by hosting Aurora University on Wednesday, February 25. The game will begin at 4 p.m. at Tucci Stadium in Bloomington, Illinois.
Illinois Wesleyan Titans Women’s Lacrosse, which competes in NCAA Division III and is a member of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, plays its home games at Tucci Stadium. The Titans have started their season with two wins, marking their best opening since 2019. Their most recent victory was a 20-10 result over Augsburg University on Sunday, February 22. Senior Anelise DiGiovanni led the offense with a career-high 10 points—seven assists and three goals. Senior Sadie Newton and sophomore Maddie Gibson each scored four goals. Newton also contributed eight ground balls and eight draw controls. Sophomore Sophie Shore recorded five caused turnovers, while sophomore Marli Brown earned the win as goalkeeper.
Through two games, DiGiovanni leads the team in points (16) and assists (10), ranking among national leaders in both categories for Division III athletes. Shore has tallied 11 points so far this season, followed by nine from Gibson. Lillie Keeton leads the Titans with eight goals; Newton has seven; DiGiovanni has six.
The team’s offensive output averages place them tenth nationally for points per set (28.5) and fourth for assists per game (11). At draw control, Newton leads with an average of seven per game—22nd nationally—with support from Shore and senior Sarah Riepe. The Titans are seventh in draw controls per game (18.5) across Division III teams.
Defensively, Illinois Wesleyan averages 22 caused turnovers per contest—second-best nationally—with Newton and Shore leading individually with eight each.
In goalkeeping duties, Brown and freshman Allison Vervynck have shared time equally this season; Brown has recorded five saves over two starts while Vervynck has six saves so far.
Illinois Wesleyan holds a narrow lead in their series against Aurora University at five wins to four but lost their last four meetings—including a 10-7 defeat on February 22, 2025.
