The Illinois Wesleyan University women’s tennis team defeated Edgewood College 6-1 on March 16 in Altamonte Springs, Florida. With this win, Illinois Wesleyan improved its season record to 9-6, while Edgewood moved to 13-6.
This result highlights the team’s performance during their spring break trip and sets the stage for their next match against Shippensburg University. The Titans swept all three doubles matches, with Amber Ehrlich and Olivia Bell winning at the top spot, Gabi Lipske and Katie Van Heuklon securing a victory at No. 2 doubles, and Adia Douglas and Elana Religioso taking the third doubles match.
In singles play, Lipske earned her first win of the trip with a straight-set victory at No. 2 singles. Van Heuklon won her match in two sets at No. 3 singles, while Bell secured a win at No. 4 singles. Douglas also claimed a straight-set victory at No. 5 singles, and Religioso improved her individual record to 14-1 with a win at No. 6 singles.
The Illinois Wesleyan Titans Women’s Tennis team hosts home matches at Evergreen Racquet Club, according to the official website.
