The Illinois Wesleyan University women’s tennis team will travel to Florida for four matches in the Orlando area, according to a March 13 announcement. The Titans, who are based in Bloomington, Illinois, compete in NCAA Division III athletics and participate in intercollegiate sports as part of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, according to the official website.
This trip is significant for the team as it marks a continuation of their spring season following a recent 5-2 win over Principia College. During that match, Illinois Wesleyan swept doubles and won four out of six singles contests. The program hosts home matches at Evergreen Racquet Club and uses Beadles-Morse Courts as its outdoor facilities, according to the official website.
The Titans’ schedule begins with a match against Coe College on Sunday, March 15 at the USTA National Campus. This will be their first meeting since 2008. On Monday, March 16, they face Edgewood College; their last encounter was in 2009 when Illinois Wesleyan won 7-2 in Orlando. The team will then play Shippensburg University on Wednesday, March 17—marking their first-ever matchup—and conclude against Crown College.
Results from these matches will be posted on iwusports.com after each contest. The program operates from Bloomington and continues its tradition of competing at both local and national levels within collegiate athletics, according to the official website.
Looking ahead, these games offer an opportunity for the Titans to test themselves against new opponents while building momentum for the remainder of their season.
