Illinois Wesleyan University junior Imani Ogunribido was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Field Athlete of the Week on April 1. This recognition marks her sixth career weekly honor and her second during outdoor season.
Ogunribido earned the award after winning the triple jump at the Redbird Challenge, an event hosted by Illinois State University that featured primarily Division I competitors. She achieved a season-best mark of 12.43 meters. Last season, Ogunribido secured a national title with a leap of 12.96 meters, placing her fourth all-time in NCAA Division III triple jump history. As this year’s outdoor track and field campaign begins, she currently leads Division III by nearly two feet.
The Titans are set to compete in two meets over the upcoming weekend: the IC Thursday Throwdown in Jacksonville, Illinois on April 2, followed by participation in the Huntsman Family Invitational at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana from April 3-4.
