Illinois State Representative Jason Bunting attended the La Salle County Farm Bureau Legislative Breakfast on April 1, where he discussed key issues facing local farmers and shared updates from the state Capitol.
The event provided an opportunity for farmers to speak directly with their representative about challenges such as rising input costs, market uncertainty, and the need for practical policies. These topics are of ongoing concern in agricultural communities across Illinois.
Bunting said, “There’s nothing more important than hearing directly from the folks who work the land every day. Conversations about rising input costs, market uncertainty, and the need for practical, commonsense policy aren’t just talking points, they’re real challenges facing our communities.” He also expressed gratitude for engaging with local producers: “I’m grateful for the opportunity to listen, share updates from the Capitol, and bring those perspectives back to help shape better decisions. Agriculture isn’t just our heritage—it’s our future, and I’m proud to stand with the men and women who keep it strong.”
Bunting was elected as a Republican to represent Illinois’s 106th House District in 2023 after replacing previous state representative Thomas Bennett according to available records.
The breakfast served as a forum for open dialogue between lawmakers and those involved in agriculture—a sector that continues to play a vital role in both local economies and statewide policy discussions.
