LeBlanc and Ray receive weekly conference honors after strong gymnastics performances

Illinois State gymnasts Mia LeBlanc and Savannah Ray have received weekly honors from the Midwest Independent Conference for their recent performances at Ball State. LeBlanc was named MIC Newcomer of the Week for the second consecutive week, while Ray earned MIC Performance of the Week.

LeBlanc participated in three events during the tri-meet at Ball State. Her top score came on bars with a 9.725, contributing to a team season high in that event. She also scored 9.575 on vault and 9.650 on floor.

Ray tied for first place on vault with a career-high score of 9.850, which is the highest vault score for an Illinois State gymnast this season and ties for the best score in any event this year for the Redbirds. She also competed on beam and finished 12th overall in another vault performance.

Illinois State will return home to host Southeast Missouri State in a conference meet at CEFCU Arena on Saturday, February 14, beginning at 6 p.m. CT. The meet will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with live stats available via Virtius.
