There have been 10,292 confirmed coronavirus cases in Livingston County as of Feb. 2, with 127 deaths linked to the virus, according to data from the state Department of Public Health (IDPH).

Chicago (544,971 cases) and Cook County (539,497 cases) posted the highest numbers statewide. Chicago’s death toll from the virus stands at 6,977, while Cook County recorded 6,456 deaths, according to the IDPH.

Illinois residents who have been tested for COVID-19 now number 51,498,181, the department reported. And the age group with the most confirmed cases was under 20, with 654,398 people in the age group testing positive for the virus.

Among all those testing positive in Illinois, 1,367,890 were male and 1,527,308 were female, the IDPH said. Male deaths linked to coronavirus numbered 16,991, while female deaths stood at 14,132.

Broken down according to race, the fatalities consisted of 19,483 whites, 5,728 African-Americans, 4,407 Hispanics, 986 Asians, and 519 belonging to other races or who did not provide their ethnicity before they died.
