Illinois State freshman gymnast Mia LeBlanc has been named the Midwest Independent Conference Newcomer of the Week for the fourth time this season, following her performance at Western Michigan, according to a Mar. 11 announcement from Illinois State University.
LeBlanc’s recognition comes after she secured her first win in the all-around event, competing in it for only the second time this season. She demonstrated consistency across all four events, with her top score being a 9.700 on floor exercise, which earned her a tie for eighth place and contributed to a final all-around score of 38.500.
The Redbirds will conclude their regular season on Sunday, March 15, in Pennsylvania with a tri-meet against Pittsburgh and West Virginia at Fitzgerald Field House. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
