Sophomore Owen Miller was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Offensive Player of the Week on March 31 after leading the Illinois Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team to two non-conference victories.
This recognition marks Miller’s first time receiving the conference’s weekly award. He is also the third player from Illinois Wesleyan to earn a CCIW honor this season, following Timothy McHugh and Billy McHugh.
During the week, Miller recorded a total of ten points, averaging five per game, with seven goals and three assists over two matches. He also collected five ground balls and caused one turnover. In a 17-6 win at Wabash College on March 25, Miller achieved a career-high four goals and five points while picking up a ground ball. In the subsequent game against Calvin University on March 28, which ended in a 14-9 victory for Illinois Wesleyan, he contributed one goal, three assists (a career best), four ground balls, and caused another turnover.
The Illinois Wesleyan Titans Men’s Lacrosse competes at the NCAA Division III level according to the official website.
