Senator Chris Balkema, Representative Dennis Tipsword, and Representative Jason Bunting announced on Apr. 13 that they will host a free senior expo in Pontiac on Wednesday, August 5.
The event is planned to take place at the Pontiac Rec Center at 900 N. Elm Street from 9 a.m. until noon. According to the announcement, dozens of vendors will be present to provide information and resources tailored for seniors.
The organizers said there will be free health screenings available, as well as assistance for veterans. Attendees can also expect information about local, state, and federal programs along with resources from area nonprofits.
Bunting said in the release: “This is a great event for seniors and for those who care for them. I hope to see you there!”
Bunting was elected as a Republican to the Illinois State House in 2023 to represent the state’s 106th House District, replacing previous state representative Thomas Bennett according to available records.
