City of Bloomington issued the following announcement on March 14.
The City of Bloomington will host an open house to introduce the community to its new Economic Development department on Wednesday, March 27 from 6-7 pm at City Hall in Council Chambers. There will be a brief presentation at 6 pm, followed by a meet and greet with newly-named Economic Development Director Melissa Hon.
The creation of the Economic Development department, which occurred on Monday, March 11, demonstrates the City’s increased emphasis on economic development. The department will enhance the City’s efforts to support existing business, revitalize Downtown, and generate new business, as well as strengthen the City’s ability to collaborate with other agencies and the regional approach to economic development.
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this event.
