Illinois State University's track and field team will divide its athletes between two competitions this weekend. A group will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for the LSU Gold Alumni meet on April 20, while the rest will compete at the Gibson Invitational in Terre Haute, Indiana, starting April 18.

The team recorded eleven personal-best performances and fourteen season-best marks last weekend. Ten athletes are currently ranked within the NCAA West Regional top 48.

Men's rankings include Amiri Buchanan in shot put (8th), Jacob Klink in shot put (29th), Mathis Chavand in the 5,000m (35th), Dewyane Johnson in the 110 hurdles (32nd), Charles Cruse in pole vault (38th), Devin Turner in long jump (21st), and Sean Hopkins also in long jump (41st).

Following these meets, most Redbirds will head to Des Moines for the Drake Relays while others will compete at home during Illinois Wesleyan's IWU Invite.
