The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team is tied for sixth place after the first 36 holes at the Cochran Collegiate tournament. The Titans, currently ranked fourth, recorded scores of 307 and 297 on Monday, April 15, at the Colonial Country Club in Memphis, Tennessee.
Sophomore Juney Bai from Mokena, Illinois, is tied for 15th place with a score of five-over par after rounds of 74 and 75. Another sophomore, Michael Spitzer from Hinsdale, Illinois, achieved an even-par score in the second round to secure a tie for 20th place with a total score of 150.
Huntingdon College leads the competition among the 17 teams with a five-over score (293-288=591). Oglethorpe University and Rhodes College share second place with scores of 594 each. Babson College holds fourth place at 595. Christopher Newport University stands fifth at four strokes ahead of both Illinois Wesleyan University and Hampden-Sydney College with a score of 604.
Foster Wood from Rhodes College and Stephen Baker from Huntingdon College are leading the individual player standings at two-under par.
The final round will take place tomorrow, April 16, starting at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
