The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team has achieved its highest ranking in program history, moving up to No. 3 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Poll. The announcement was made by the AVCA on Tuesday, November 11.
This rise in the rankings comes after the Titans completed their regular season with a win over Augustana College on Wednesday, November 5. With a current record of 24-2, Illinois Wesleyan advances one spot from last week’s poll.
East Texas Baptist is now ranked No. 1 as the only remaining undefeated team. LaVerne has moved down to No. 2. UW-Oshkosh rose to No. 4 following a victory over UW-Eau Claire, which now holds the fifth position in the poll.
Illinois Wesleyan enters the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament as the top seed and will face either No. 4 Wheaton or No. 5 Carroll in the semifinals on Thursday, November 13. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Shirk Center, with a place in Saturday night’s CCIW Tournament Championship at stake.
