Illinois State Representative Jason Bunting visited the Three Rivers Public Library District in Channahon on March 9 to celebrate the library’s 50th anniversary. During the event, Bunting presented an official House of Representatives certificate to recognize the milestone.

The anniversary celebration drew a large turnout from local residents, who gathered to honor the library’s half-century of service. The event highlighted the important role that the library has played in supporting and enriching the community over five decades.

“It was an honor to present them with an official House of Representatives certificate recognizing this incredible milestone,” Bunting said. “They had an amazing turnout, and it was great to see so many community members celebrating the library and everything it brings to our area. Congratulations on 50 years of serving our communities- here’s to many more!”

Bunting, a Republican, was elected to the Illinois State House in 2023 to represent the state’s 106th House District, replacing previous state representative Thomas Bennett.

The Three Rivers Public Library District continues its commitment to providing resources and programs for residents. Community members expressed appreciation for the library’s ongoing contributions as it enters its next chapter.
