Illinois Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse junior Timothy McHugh was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Offensive Player of the Week, according to a March 10 announcement by the league.
This recognition marks McHugh’s third career weekly accolade. He previously earned the honor twice last season, on March 25 and April 1. It is also the second weekly honor for the Titans this year, as his brother, senior Billy McHugh, was named conference defensive player of the week on February 17.
During the past week, Timothy McHugh led Illinois Wesleyan to two victories. Over two games, he recorded eight points—three goals and five assists—averaging four points per game. He also collected ten ground balls and caused four turnovers. In a 15-3 win over Benedictine University on March 5, he finished with one goal and four assists, along with five ground balls and three caused turnovers. He followed that performance with two goals and an assist in a 14-7 victory over Lake Forest College on March 7.
The Illinois Wesleyan Titans Men’s Lacrosse team competes at the NCAA Division III level and holds membership in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin according to the official website. The team plays its home games at Tucci Stadium in Bloomington, Illinois according to the official website.
Illinois Wesleyan is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, March 11, hosting Baldwin Wallace University at Tucci Stadium with play set to begin at 7 p.m.
