Woodland Community Unit School District 5 Board of Education met June 25.

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT DAY WAIVER HEARING MEETING
The Board of Education of the Woodland CUSD#5 held a School Improvement Day Hearing on June 25, 2025 at 6:27 pm. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Jeremy Adams.
Answering roll call were: Jeremy Adams, Eric Sass, Rebecca Sterling, Chad Gilkerson
Absent were: Erik Heidenreich, Dan Reinmann, Allison Wissen
Also, present were: Dr. Ryan McGuckin, Superintendent, Leland Brooke, SRO
It was moved by Eric Sass and seconded by Rebecca Sterling to call the Public Hearing to order for the waiver of Section 105 ILCS 5/10-19.05 (d) of the Illinois School Code for Woodland CUSD #5.
Roll Call: all yeas, 4 yeas and 0 nays. The motion carried.
Dr. McGuckin provided the board with an update on the School Improvement Day Plan of Action and submission of the waiver regarding same for Woodland CUSD #5. We are seeking a modification to allow for four full day SIP days (as opposed to half days) using banked time totaling not less than 5 hours for each full SIP day. Full days are more efficient and effective, thus helping us immensely to make lasting improvement for student learning and academic outcomes.

It was moved by Eric Sass and seconded by Rebecca Sterling to close the Public Hearing for the School Improvement Day waiver for Woodland CUSD #5.
Roll Call: all yeas, 4 yeas and 0 nays. The motion carried.
