Early voting has begun across Illinois for the 2018 general election and McLean County Clerk Kathy Michael reports no surge in interest this year versus the 2014 mid-terms.
“Early voting is similar to 2014,” Michael said. “It's what we consider ‘slow’ right now; but as usual, we expect it to pick up as we get closer to Election Day.”
Michael said voters have so far submitted about 100 early ballots, on pace with 2014, when turnout was 50 percent in the gubernatorial race.
Early voting across Illinois started Sept. 27 and will go through Monday, Nov. 5, the day before the election.
