Village of Gridley Board met Feb. 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

President Benedict called the meeting to order and directed the Clerk to call roll, and upon roll call, the following Trustees answered present: Roger Stucky, Susan Laiming, Keri Hany, J. D. Maurer and Mick Finck. Quorum present. Employees Jen Hany, Dan Garretson and Philip Romersberger were also present.

Jeff asked if there were any corrections or additions to the January 7 meeting minutes. There were none. Mick made a motion to approve the minutes and Roger seconded the motion. Roll call: Stucky-yea, Laiming-yea, Hany-yea, Maurer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Board reviewed the “Bills received by Clerk”. Roger made a motion to approve the bills and J.D. seconded the motion. Roll call: Stucky-yea, Laiming-yea, Hany-yea, Maurer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Board reviewed the Treasurer’s Report. After discussion, Susan made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report and Roger seconded. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Jeff presented a donation request from Show Bus. Mick made a motion to donate $500 to Show Bus. Roger seconded. Roll call: Stucky-yea, Laiming-yea, Hany-yea, Maurer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Susan reported that she, Dan and Phil met with Sean and Zack from Farnsworth regarding the condition of the swimming pool. The engineers were impressed with the upkeep on the pool which was built in 1996. Farnsworth will offer some cost estimates for repair and refurbishing the current pool as well as long range plans for replacing the existing pool.

Michael Finck entered the meeting at 7:10 p.m.

Roger reported that the new pickup truck has been ordered. It will take 6-8 more weeks for delivery.

Keri asked for an update on ordinance book. The ordinances should be ready to go online after the March meeting. J.D. made a motion to recess for a Zoning meeting.

Minutes of Zoning Hearing February 4, 2019

At 7:30 p.m. Village President Benedict read the “Notice of Public Hearing For Rezoning” in response to a petition for Rezoning Part of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 9, Township 26 North, Range 3 East of the 3rd Principal Meridian, Gridley, IL. Property is directly West of 101 W. Gridley Rd. The Petition requests that the zoning of said property be changed from A1 (Agricultural) to B3 (Highway Commercial). Any person may file a protest in writing with the Village Clerk at the Gridley Village Hall at any time before the such Public Hearing begins, and/or may appear in person, or by representative at the time and place named above and be heard on this matter. Village President Benedict asked the Village Clerk if she received any protests in writing pertaining to this matter. She stated she had not received any written protests to the petition. Village President Benedict then opened the floor for discussion or questions from anyone present at the hearing on this matter.

Ty Eshleman, Farnsworth Group submitted testimony on behalf of the Petitioner.

At the conclusion of the hearing, Trustee Maurer made a motion to close the Public Hearing of the Village President and Board of Trustees of Gridley, Illinois in the Village Hall meeting room, 117 E. Third St. Gridley, Illinois, and Trustee Mick Finck seconded the motion. Roll call; Stuckey-yea, Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Hany-yea, Maurer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voting in the affirmative, motion declared carried.

Roger made a motion to resume the regular board meeting. J.D. seconded. Roll Call: Stucky-yea, Michael Finck- yea, Laiming-yea, Hany-yea, Maurer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Michael Finck read Ordinance #613 – Ordinance to Change Zoning Classification. After discussion, Susan made a motion to pass Ordinance #613. Keri seconded. Roll Call: Stucky-yea, Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Hany- yea, Maurer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Mick made a motion to go into Executive session. Roger seconded. All present answered in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Regular session resumed.

J. D. made a recommendation to hire Tanner Benedict as pool manager and Anne Wettstein as assistant manager. The salary will be split 65/35. Tanner may continue to assist Dan and Phil with the village as needed or as time permits. Susan so moved. Roger seconded. Roll Call: Stucky-yea, Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Hany-yea, Maurer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Michael made a motion to adjourn. Roger seconded. Roll Call: Stucky-yea, Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Hany-yea, Maurer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
