City of Bloomington issued the following announcement on May 15.
The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts free Family Day will be held Saturday, May 18 from Noon to 2 p.m. at Tipton Park, North Pavilion.
“This free event is for families to have fun while connecting with organizations that support healthy living,” says program manager Nicole Culbertson.
Fun activities will include The Unique Twist balloon artists, face painting by the Zoo Lady, an inflatable obstacle course and an art crafts.
Local businesses and organizations will be in attendance such as: Chicago Fire Soccer, Sylvan Learning Center, Game Time Gym II, Altitude Trampoline Park, ISU Athletics, Dust2Glory Fitness, We Rock the Spectrum Kids Gym, Challenger Sports and more.
ENDANGERED SPECIES DAY
Miller Park Zoo will host Endangered Species Day on Saturday, May 18 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM with Zookeeper talks every half hour during the event. The talks will educate people of all ages on the importance of protecting endangered animals and what actions can be taken to help preserve the future of these species. Miller Park Zoo is located inside Miller Park at 1020 S. Morris Avenue, in Bloomington. The event is free with Zoo admission.
FAMILY SKATE DAY
The Pepsi Ice Center will host a special Family Skate Day on Sunday, May 19 from 2:00 PM – 3:20 PM at the Ice Center located at 201 S. Roosevelt Ave., in Bloomington. Bring the whole family out for a fun afternoon of skating while getting in some exercise! Families can receive special discounted admission, call the Pepsi Ice Center for details at (309) 434-2875.
