Q2 2018 Recap: Parolees in Bloomington convicted of property crimes

There were five offenders convicted of property crimes released on parole in Bloomington during the second quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the McLean County Times.

The data shows that four men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for property crimes was 34. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced in 2016, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man sentenced in 2015.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Byron Brakefield. He was convicted of a property crime in 2015 when he was 47 years old. He is now 51.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q2 2018 who were convicted of property crimes.
