City of Fairbury Planning Commission met June 12.

The Planning Commission held a meeting at 12 Noon. Members present were Chairman Rick Wilson, Leroy McPherson, Tracy Taylor. Also in attendance was City Superintendent Brett Ashburn and Stephanie Meints the Planning Commission Secretary.
Due to lack of attendance they were unable to vote, therefore, the meeting was used as a discussion.
There was a review of the Comprehensive Plan Map. The map they were reviewing was updated a year ago, therefore the new annexations will need to be added to the map.
Rick Wilson talked about possibly getting a social media expert to teach a class to small business owners on how to advertise and sell online. This will help promote the shop local effort.
Shop local will be focusing on four specific areas such as job creation, kids activities, support of City streets and sidewalks, and the safety services (ambulances and doctors).
