City of Planning Commission met July 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

The Planning Commission held a meeting at 12 Noon. Members present were Chairman Rick Wilson, Leroy McPherson, Tracy Taylor and Michael Blackwell. Also in attendance was Heather Negray, Office Manager with the Greater Livingston County Economic Development Council and City Clerk, Nancy Widlacki as the Planning Commission Secretary.

Review of minutes from April 10 and June 12, 2019: Motion by Taylor, second by McPherson to approve. Motion carried unanimously.

Chairman Wilson and member Blackwell provided updates regarding the Shop Local campaign. A slogan has been created with the acronym HOME which stands. for Helping youth, Opportunities, Maintenance and Emergency Services.

Heather Negray, Office Manager with the Greater Livingston County Economic Development Council spoke to the members about the different types of financial incentives available to business owners in Livingston County including tax abatements and grants. Several City of Fairbury businesses have benefited from the GLCEDC's programming. Heather left materials with each member to take back to their respective offices.

Motion by McPherson, second by Blackwell to adjourn. Motion carried.
