Village of Gridley Board of Trustees met Oct. 7.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Gridley was held at the Village Hall on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the Village Hall at 7:00 p.m. Kyle Cobbley offered a word of prayer.

President Jeff Benedict called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call roll, and upon roll call, the following Trustees answered present: Michael Finck, Kyle Cobbley, Susan Laiming, Keri Hany, J.D. Maurer and Mick Finck. Quorum present. Employees Philip Romersberger and Jen Hany were also present.

Jeff asked if there were any corrections or additions to the September meeting minutes. There were none. Mick made a motion to approve the minutes and J. D. seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Kyle-yea, Susan-yea, Keri- yea, J.D.-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Board reviewed the “Bills received by Clerk. J.D. made a motion to approve the bills and Michael seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Kyle-yea, Susan-yea, Keri-yea, J.D.-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Board reviewed the Treasurer’s Report. After discussion, Mick made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report and Kyle seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Kyle-yea, Susan-yea, Keri-yea, J.D.-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Jeff introduced Adam Pulley with CliftonLarsonAllen who attended the meeting to present the audit and review it with board members.

Philip reported to the board that the three generators have never been serviced and he would like to contact Bill Funk to service them. Board members agreed that as a routine maintenance item, it should be done.

Jennifer reported that she needed to post trick or treat hours. After discussion, trustees agreed hours should be 5pm to 7:30 pm on October 31.

Jeff presented a Contract for Certified Water System Operator between the Village of Gridley and Jay Zehr.

J.D. made a motion to enter into contract with Jay Zehr as our Certified Water System Operator at a rate of $500 per month. Mick seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Kyle-yea, Susan-yea, Keri-yea, J.D.-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Susan presented a quote from Todd Witzig to remove a tree at 107 W. 4th St. for $400. Susan made a motion to

approve this quote. Mick seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Kyle-yea, Susan-yea, Keri-yea, J.D.-yea, Mick Finck- yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Susan discussed the need for replacing trees since many have been removed. She had a quote from Growing Grounds for assorted oak and maple trees at $340 per tree, planted. After discussion, Susan made a motion to purchase 13 trees at $340 per tree. J.D. seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Kyle-yea, Susan-yea, Keri-yea, J.D.-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Michael present a draft Tax Levy Ordinance to trustees for review. If no changes are requested, tax levy ordinance will be passed at November board meeting.

Susan reported that Christkindl will be held December 5 – 7. After discussion, Susan made a motion that the Village donate $500 toward the purchase of banners and allow use of the village copy machine for printing needs. J.D. seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Kyle-yea, Susan-yea, Keri-yea, J.D.-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Susan reported the need for additional Christmas lights. After discussion, Susan made a motion to spend up to $1,200 for Christmas lights. Keri seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Kyle-yea, Susan-yea, Keri-yea, J.D.-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Susan reported that the property committee met with the Farnsworth engineers regarding the pool. The board feels that more information is needed before a decision is made to begin upgrades.

Kyle made a motion to go into executive session to discuss personnel. Mick seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Kyle-yea, Susan-yea, Keri-yea, J.D.-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Regular session resumed.

Michael made a motion to adjourn. Susan seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Kyle-yea, Susan-yea, Keri-yea, J.D.- yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
