City of Pontiac City Council met Jan. 21.

Acting Mayor Alvey called to order the meeting of the City Council at 7:00 P.M.
The City Clerk was directed to call roll, and the following members of the Council were present: Alvey, Swanson, Eckhoff, Causer, Bradshaw, Myers, Gabor and Wille. Absent: Kallas and Hicks.
PRESENTATION
Ray McGhee of the Pontiac Elks Club #1019, presented to Police Chief Jim Woolford the Illinois State Elk’s Enrique Camarena Award, which represents work for a drug free commitment in Pontiac and area.
SWEARING IN PONTIAC FIREFIGHTER
Fire Chief Jacob Campbell presented and swore in the newest member of the Pontiac Fire Fighters, Devon Johansen.
He also recognized the members who have completed Volunteer Fireman status. They are: Jordan Noonan, Fernando Daily, Kai Libby and David Cunningham.
CONSENT AGENDA
Acting Mayor Alvey stated that there were five items on the consent agenda. He asked if there was a need to have any item removed for later discussion. Hearing none, motion made by Myers, second by Causer, that the items on the consent agenda be approved as presented.
A. Motion by Myers, second by Causer , to approve the minutes of the January 6, 2020 City Council Meeting. On a roll call vote, motion carried 8-0. Aye votes recorded: Alvey, Swanson, Eckhoff, Causer, Bradshaw, Myers, Gabor and Wille.
B. Motion by Myers, second by Causer to approve the minutes of the January 13, 20202 Committee of the Whole. On a roll call vote, motion carried 8-0. Aye votes recorded: Alvey, Swanson, Eckhoff, Causer, Bradshaw, Myers, Gabor and Wille.
C. Motion by Myers, second by Causer to approve payment of bills totaling $4,750.29 from the TIF I Fund. On a roll call vote, motion carried 8-0. Aye votes recorded: Alvey, Swanson, Eckhoff, Causer, Bradshaw, Myers, Gabor and Wille.
D Motion by Myers, second by Causer to approve the payment of bills totaling $234,091.20 from all other funds. On a roll call vote, motion carried 8-0. Aye votes recorded: Alvey, Swanson, Eckhoff, Causer, Bradshaw, Myers, Gabor and Wille.
E. Motion by Myers, second by Causer to approve the request for use of the Chautaugua Park by the Route 66 Rottweiler Club for may 15, 16 and 17, 2020. On a roll call vote, motion carried 8-0. Aye votes recorded: Alvey, Swanson, Eckhoff, Causer, Bradshaw, Myers, Gabor and Wille.
REGULAR AGENDA
A. Bid Authorization - Holiday Road
Motion by Gabor, second by Hicks to approve the bid authorization of the road work on Holiday road. On a roll call vote, motion carried 8-0. Aye votes recorded: Alvey, Swanson, Eckhoff, Causer, Bradshaw, Myers, Gabor and Wille.
B. Bid Authorization - Deerfield Rd.
Motion by Kelly, second by Wille to approve the bid authorization for road work on Deerfield Rd. On a roll call vote, motion carried 8-0. Aye votes recorded: Alvey, Swanson, Eckhoff, Causer, Bradshaw, Myers, Gabor and Wille.
C. 2020-2021 Budget Review
City Administrator, Bob Karls reviewed information on the Police Pension Fund, Fire Pension Fund, IMRF and Unemployment Liability Insurance figures.
Mayor Comments
Acting Mayor Alvey brought up the letter from Mike Stalter regarding vicious dogs, non leashed dogs and how it is handled. Most instances are taken care of by the Livingston County Animal Control, but the City police will be brought in, if needed.
Administrator Comments
Committee of the Whole meeting will be on January 27, 2020 at 6:00 P.M.
Also scheduled an infrastructure Committee Meeting on January 28, 20202 at 4:30 P.M.
