City of Le Roy City Council met Jan. 20.
Here is the minutes provided by the council:
The Special Projects Committee meeting was called to order by Dean at 7:50 PM at Le Roy City Hall, 207 S, East street, with council members Dawn Hanafin Rick Kline, Kyle Merkle, Brad Poindexter, Kelly Lav, Ron Legner, Matt Steffen and Greg Steffen present,
Staff members present were Chief Wiiliamson, Samantha Walley and Vicki Moreland.
Keith Moran of Moran Economic Development presented the council with a Business District Redevelopment Plan and Project including a map of the boundaries. The Business District would be created to an additional sales tax designated to fund development and redevelopment in areas within the business district boundaries of the municipality.
A separate fund would be set up for the bus ness district tax money receipts.
A Schedule of Events, including a required Public Hearing was presented to outline the timeframe that would need to be followed in order to begin collection of the tax in 2020.
The Council discussed sales tax increases of.25%,.50%,.75% and 1% and the projections of tax collected for each.
