Village of Dwight Village Board of Trustees met March 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

President Anderson called the meeting to order at 6:30PM and lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

PRESENT: Jared Anderson, Village President; Marla Kinkade Trustee; Randy Irvin, Trustee; Jerry Curtis, Trustee; Jenny Johnson, Trustee; Justin Eggenberger, Trustee; Chuck Butterbrodt, Trustee

Other Village Officials in Attendance: Jill Haacke, Village Clerk; Steve Kinkade, Public Works Director; Irv Masching, Village Attorney; Glenn Peters, Sargent

FINANCIAL REPORTS

Payment of the March 9, 2020 bills in the amount of $166,471.93 were presented for payment from the various funds. Trustee Curtis made a motion, with a second from Trustee Johnson to pay the bills as submitted. Roll call. All voted aye. Motion carries.

PUBLIC FORUM

Tom Tock inquired if the property letters that are sent out to owners to clean up their lot work.

VILLAGE REPORTS

Jenny Allsworth from the EMS department handed out the monthly statistics. They are still waiting on the cot for the new ambulance. Once that is installed, it will be inspected and then up and running. President Anderson informed the board that there have been 12 plus applications turned in for the EMS department and they will start interviews soon.

Jane Anderson thanked the board for those that attended the auction. April 26th will be the all town clean up. Buzz the Gut will be June 27th. The Springfest and BBQ Smoke Out will now be located downtown.

ORDINANCE/RESOLUTION/PROCLAMATION

An ordinance was presented by President Anderson for the TIF District. This Ordinance is calling for a Public hearing and a Joint Review Board Meeting to consider the designation of a redevelopment project area and the approval of redevelopment plan and project for the Village of Dwight IL 17/Route 66 TIF District.

Trustee Kinkade made a motion with a second from Trustee Curtis to approve Ordinance #1436 as presented. Roll call. All voted aye. Motion carries.

COMMITTEE MEETINGS

The Administrative Committee met on March 2, 2020 at 5:30PM in the Public Services Complex. Those present were Trustees Johnson, Curtis, Irvin and President Anderson.

Trustee Eggenberger made a motion with a second from Trustee Butterbrodt to approve the Dwight EMS expansion to cover the Emington Campus Fire Protection District. Roll call. All voted aye. Motion carries.

The Administrative Committee met on March 9, 2020 at 6:00PM in the Public Services Complex. Those present were Trustees Johnson, Curtis, Irvin and President Anderson. Those also present were Clerk Haacke, Steve Kinkade, and both property owners. President Anderson called the meeting to order at 6:00PM.

Paul Ferrari of 124 E. Main Street was in to discuss the roof he was working on at the property. Ferrari asked Elens & Maichin Roofing & Sheet Metal Inc. from Manhattan to evaluate the current roof and suggest on how to move forward with the roofing issue at the property. The new roof would partially block the windows of the building next to it owned by Rodriguez and Stoudt. There are three apartment units upstairs that it would affect.

Both property owners are looking for the board to guide the roofing issue. President Anderson will sit down will Ivy Daniels and Irv Masching to have a meeting about what the next steps will be going forward for the new roof and contact both parties.

Finding no further business, President Anderson asked for a motion to adjourn. A motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Kinkade seconded by Johnson. All voted aye by voice vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:36PM.
