Manhattan home prices fall in the first quarter of 2020

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2020 in Manhattan fell by $55,751 while total sales increased by 10%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2020, there were 33 homes sold, with a median sale price of $254,000 - a 18% decrease over the $309,751 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 30 homes sold in Manhattan in the first quarter of 2019.

The median sales tax in Manhattan for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $6,666, approximately 2.6% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2020.
