Village of Cullom Village Board met March 12.

Mayor Hahn opened the March 12, 2020 Public Hearing for the proposed water tower project for the Village of Cullom at 6:00 p.m. at the Cullom Village Hall.
Board Members Present: Hahn, Flessner, Mills, J. Meister, Rock, and Krause
Absent: Wallrich, K. Meister and Whitman
Meeting Purpose: The Public Hearing was held to address any questions from residents.
Mayor Hahn opened the meeting by explaining that the present water tower legs were erected in 1905 and the top was replaced in 1967. She also gave the following information on repairs and maintenance:
. In 2010 the village spent $73,000 on painting and repairs
• In 2014 A CPAC Grant was applied for and failed to receive. In 2017 the projected repair needs are $220,000 to maintain the tower after inspection from Pittsburg Tank & Tower Group
Neil Piggush, representing Piggush Engineering, explained the need for a new tower, how it would benefit the community, how the EPA Revolving Loan operated, the cost of the project and the time frame it would take to complete the project.
Residents were asked to address any questions or concerns. The two questions broached were:
1. Do we need a new tower as large as the one proposed? 2. How does the loan process work?
