City of Lexington issued the following announcement on June 25.
Together Lexington has navigated through these uncertain times brought on by COVID 19. We have kept our community safe and healthy simply by using common sense and caring for each other. I am forever grateful to you for your understanding.
This Friday we enter Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan. While we all look forward to moving on, we must also remember there are still uncertain times ahead. I encourage all to still use our common sense and keep our community safe.
Having said that, I am extremely excited for what the future holds for Lexington. We have a lot of projects we are working on behind the scenes and hope to announce some very soon.
We believe Phase 4 will now allow our Casey's General Store to proceed. We have almost completed our part of the road work for Douglas Drive North. I am sure all of you want to see this project completed as much as we do.
We have decided to keep the Community Food Court tent up until the end of August. This will provide outdoor seating for all of our restaurants and will also host our weekly Tuesday Farmers' Market which start up July 7th. Watch for future details.
So, as we move forward please stay safe and healthy and enjoy the rest of the summer.
