City of Fairbury issued the following announcement on June 26.

The City would like to remind pool patrons of some new procedures in place due to the pandemic. Body temperatures will be taken prior to admittance. A body temp of 100.4 or higher will not be admitted. Any person registering 100.4 or higher can rest for a while and have their temp taken again. Occupancy is limited to 100 patrons. City of Fairbury residents only, Monday through Saturday. Sundays are open to the general public. Patrons 16 yrs old and older may be asked to show identification confirming residency. Children aged 10 to 15 may be asked for their home address. The pool is not providing lounge chairs or tables but please, feel free to bring your own. Pool staff will be seated outside the gate ready to serve our patrons. Please do not access the pool through the inside of the building. The Boys and Girls Club have very strict protocols in place that we do not want to jeopardize. Passes are on sale at City Hall only. If you have questions, please call Nancy at City Hall, 692-2743, for more information.

Group swimming lessons are not available this year. Please call the pool after opening day to register for private lessons, 692-2912. We're going to try adult swim again this year from 11 a.m. to noon, everyday. Cost is $1.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during this very challenging time. We are hoping to open the pool to more swimmers. Please stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates. We appreciate you and your cooperation this season!
