City of Pontiac City Council met Aug. 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

B. Report from Infrastructure Committee

Motion by Gabor, second by Swanson to approve the recommendation of the Infrastructure Committee that Build Illinois Funds be appropriated to the Indiana Street project. On a roll call vote, motion carried 9-0. Aye votes recorded: Barr, Swanson, Eckhoff, Kallas, Hicks, Causer, Myers, Gabor and Wille.

Motion by Eckhoff, second by Gabor to refer to the Planning Committee the issue of the Cannibus Zoning Ordinance and review a possible amendment. On a roll call vote, motion carried 9-0. Aye votes recorded: Barr, Swanson, Eckhoff, Kallas, Hicks, Causer, Myers, Gabor and Wille.

Infrastructure Committee also noted that the outdoor dining has been successful and would like plans to develop permanent areas

C. Draft - Amended Parks Rules & Regulations

Taylor Baxter presented a draft of amended Parks Rules and Regulations for Council to review. D. Resolution 2020-R-010 Building Maintenance Levy

Motion by Wille, second by Eckhoff to approve Resolution 2020-R-010, levying additional tax under the Illinois Local Library Act for building maintenance purposes. On a roll call vote, motion carried 9-0. Aye votes recorded: Barr, Swanson, Eckhoff, Kallas, Hicks, Causer, Myers, Gabor and Wille.

E. Contract for Engineering Services for Sanitary Sewer Extension to the Rec-Plex

Motion by Gabor, second by Hicks to approve Farnsworth Group quote of $27,000.00 for design of the Rec Plex sanitary sewer system. On a roll call vote, motion carried 9-0. Aye votes recorded: Barr, Swanson, Eckhoff, Kallas, Hicks, Causer, Myers, Gabor and Wille.

F. Contract for Roof Replacement - Mausoleum Southside Cemetery

Notion by Kallas, second by Barr to approve the bid of $30,680.00 for roof replacement on the mausoleum at the southside cemetery, On a roll call vote, motion carried 9-0. Aye votes recorded: Barr, Swanson, Eckhoff, Kallas, Hicks, Causer, Myers, Gabor and Wille.

Mayor Comments

Mayor Alvey noted that the City is following guidelines from the State for community safety for all of Pontiac citizens.

Administrator Comments

Committee of the Whole set for August 31, 2020 at 6:00 at the Eagle Theater.

Liz Vincent is working on a concert in the park and Chief Campbell announced that the Fire Department has received the Fire Assistant Grant of $230,000.00 to replace air packs.
