Village of Cullom Village Board met July 28.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
Mayor Hahn called the Meeting of the Cullom Village Board to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Cullom Community Building Small Room. The change of venue was due to the Governor's call to distance individuals to a six foot minimum due to the COVID-19 Virus Pandemic.
Members Present: Hahn, Flessner, Mills, Wallrich, Rock, Whitman, Wallrich and Krause
Absent: J. Meister
Also Present: Attorney Gabor
Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag: All present took part in the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag
Minutes: Motion to accept the minutes by consent agenda for the June regular meeting was made by Krause/Rock. M/C.
Public: None
Maintenance Report: The following reports were presented:
• Wall in front of downtown building is in place to protect public
• Water valves have been exercised
• Suspect well #4 has a leak. Kickapoo Drilling will pull well and inspect on 7 /29/20
• Mosquito spraying was completed on 7 /22
• Ditch from Oak street south has been sprayed
Attorney Report:
• Attorney Gabor reported information on village on-going litigations
• Gabor will contact Manola as to the situation with his property on Main Street
Clerk Report: Mills/Whitman made the motion to pay the monthly bills totaling $25,480.93. All voted in favor and M/C
Treasurer Report: Motion made by Whitman/Wall rich to accept the Monthly report. All voted in favor and M/C.
Old Business:
• Phase 1 of Water Metering - Installation has begun in empty buildings and churches
• MFT Maple Street Project - Piggush Engineering met with board members to explain the project. Whitman/Krause made the motion to proceed with a spring bid
• Water Tower Project- Update was given after meeting with Piggush Engineering
• Iron Tank - Working on loan application
• Jackson/Oak Street Drain - Still investigating
• Zoning 301 W. Van Alstyne Street-After a discussion it was decided that there would be no action taken at this time
New Business
• Appropriations Ordinance - Motion to accept as presented was made by Wall rich/Mills. All voted in favor and M/C
• Covid-19 Relief Funds- Krause/Whitman made the motion to donate the $2,500 received from Vermilion Valley Bank to the Beckman Memorial Library to start a fund for a new roof. All voted in favor and M/C
Any Other Business
• IML 2021 Insurance Renewal- Paperwork done and sent in
• Casey's Curbside Beer Sales - Permission has been given for Casey's to sell beer at curbside after all requirements for sale has been done
• Nicor Franchise Agreement- Leave the same
