Q2 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in McLean County?

There were 44 offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2020 that live in McLean County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by McLean County Times.

The data shows that 41 men and three women were released in McLean County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 38. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019, and the oldest was a 69-year-old man sentenced for homicide in 2011.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Tavarus Murray. He was convicted of homicide in 1999 when he was 19 years old. He is now 41.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2020 in each McLean County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
