State Rep. Dan Brady recently announced that he has asked the Illinois National Guard to help distribute COVID-19 vaccines to speed up the vaccination process.
He called the National Guard units to go back to the Bloomington/Normal area and help the health care officials there distribute the vaccines to residents. Brady said that there will be four Guard Units arriving at the area starting on March 9 and for each unit there will be 18 men and women to assist health care providers distribute the doses.
Brady said that additional assistance is needed because he is expecting more vaccine doses to arrive soon. He thanked the National Guard along with other government offices such as Illinois Public Health department, the McLean County Health Department, the McLean County Officials and the Carle Bro-Menn and O.S.F. Hospitals.
Brady said that with the help of those government offices, health departments and the National Guard, people who have been waiting for the vaccine will soon be getting it.
