Transparency is needed, says Senate Republican Deputy Leader Sue Rezin (R-Morris) after hearing Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s announcement of the Restore Illinois Bridge Phase plan.
Rezin called for collaboration and transparency in the statement she released after learning of the new plan.
Publishing on Twitter, she wrote: “Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker announced a 'bridge' phase between Phase 4 and Phase 5 of his original Restore Illinois Plan.”
“While I am encouraged that the Governor has listened to our Caucus’ calls for the establishment of a clear path for a return to normalcy and the full reopening of our state’s economy, I still believe that there needs to be increased transparency and the inclusion of the legislative branch in the decision-making process,” Rezin said.
The senator demanded that Pritzker’s “unilateral control over every aspect of the COVID-19 response must end. It is time for the Pritzker Administration to work collaboratively with the General Assembly to ensure that we provide the necessary assistance for those who have been disproportionately affected by this pandemic.”
Rezin, who has been representing Illinois’ 38th Legislative District since 2010 believes in collaboration. She is an active member of the bipartisan National Conference of State Legislatures that unites legislators and staff throughout the county to help provide the best solutions to various challenges.
