Pricing for the median home in Forrest increased during the second half of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2017 in Forrest rose by $56,000 while total sales increased by 12.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2017, there were nine homes sold, with a median sale price of $139,000 - a 67.5% increase over the $83,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were eight homes sold in Forrest in the second half of 2016.

The median sales tax in Forrest for 2017 was $2,110. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,077. This marks an increase of 1.5%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.5%.
