State Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Morris) is keeping her 38th District constituents informed about a new government program that offers free COVID-19 tests.
“Free at-home COVID tests now available,” Rezin recently posted on Facebook. “Residential households in the U.S. can order one set of 4 free at-home tests from USPS. Orders will ship free starting in late January.”
The tests are now available for order through the government website covidtests.gov, with the first shipments expected to be in the mail by the end of the month.
"The tests will be completely free—there are no shipping costs and you don’t need to enter a credit card number," the website states.
White House officials estimate it will anywhere from seven to 12 days for the tests to ship after an order is placed.
"To promote broad access, the initial program will only allow 4 free individual tests per residential address," the site states.
